Partin & Partin Heart Bar Ranch is owned and operated by Mike Partin and his two sons, Steve and Carlton. The ranch is rich in tradition and history thanks to Mike's grandfather, Henry O. Partin whom everyone recognizes as the Father of the Brahman cattle industry in Florida.

On September 15, 1936 Mr. Henry purchased 131 purebred Brahmans from a Texas breeder and a year or so later he got a bull he'd been after since he first saw him in the early 1930's. This bull was Imparistre, son of an imported bull named Imperator. One of Imparistre's first sons by a Partin cow was named "Emperor" born on April 9, 1940. Mr. Henry always said pointing with pride to Emperor, "that is the man that put me in the Brahman business." Mr. Henry had the know-how and foresight and merely wanted to put blocky beef on his cattle and he used Emperor to do it. Henry O. Partin, with the help of Emperor, practically transformed Florida's cattle industry during the 1940's and 1950's. Never defeated in a show ring, Emperor was used as a sire by several of Florida's cattlemen. Early on it was to see that Emperor was special, he took grand champion honors as a yearling at the Tampa, FL fair. Descendents of Emperor in a two-year period won 108 blue ribbons around the nation.

Generations later Mike and his two sons are carrying on the Partin tradition of raising functional, outstanding Brahmans and promoting the breed. Mr. Henry, was President of ABBA from 1951-53 and Mike served as ABBA president from 1995-97.

Working together is a proud heritage on the Partin ranch, whether it's making hay or working cattle, family members do the work themselves. We run a registered Brahman ranch and commercial cattle operations that is still meeting the demands of the cattle industry after seventy years.
